What Is Signal Agent¶
Signal Agent is nBlick's traffic intelligence layer. It watches the requests that reach your website and turns them into a clear picture of who is visiting, how they got there, and what they are looking at — including the growing share of traffic that now comes from AI assistants and automated agents rather than people.
While the rest of nBlick tells you how your brand shows up inside AI answers, Signal Agent tells you what happens after those answers send someone (or something) to your site.
Why It Matters¶
A rising portion of web traffic no longer behaves like a classic human visitor. Crawlers, retrieval bots, and AI agents fetch your pages to read, summarize, and cite them. Standard analytics tools were built for browsers and often miss or misattribute this activity. Signal Agent is designed to surface it, so you can:
- See which pages AI systems actually fetch and reference.
- Separate genuine human sessions from automated and agent traffic.
- Understand referral patterns, request volume, and the paths that matter most.
- Connect your AI visibility work to the real visits it generates.
How It Works¶
Signal Agent collects lightweight metadata about each public request your site serves — things like the URL, method, status, timing, and originating client — then sends it to nBlick for analysis. Collection runs server-side: there are no cookies, no browser scripts, and no impact on the experience your visitors see. Sensitive values are stripped before anything leaves your server, and only public-facing traffic is ever included.
Once the data reaches nBlick, it is classified and aggregated into dashboards that break traffic down by source, behavior, and intent.
Getting Started¶
The fastest way to start sending signals is the official WordPress plugin. It installs in minutes and begins streaming traffic data with a single API key.
